Are you struggling to create your own sales letters? If you’ve never created one before, the task could almost be unbearable. If you would like to learn how to create sales letters easily, please bear with me.

When I started creating sales letters, I wanted to find the easiest way to do so. So I purchased a copywriting software. It was pretty much like a template. I asked a few questions like “who is the target audience” and “what benefits am I providing”. All I had to do is plug in the answers and out came a sales letter. Well, it wasn’t that easy. I still had to make some modifications so that the sales letter would be more readable.

The problem was that no matter what answers I plugged in, it could only use 1 template. All of the surrounding words were the same. If I was going to only create 1 sales letter, that wouldn’t be a problem. What if you had several sales letters on your website or if you had multiple websites using that same template?

So after trying a few copywriting programs, I came up with this short list of options that I look for:

* Does it offer more than one template?
* Does it provide suggestions for headlines?
* Does it provide suggestions for openings?
* Does it provide suggestions for guarantees?
* Does it provide suggestions for your call-to-action?

I’m guessing that you’re looking at copywriting software because you want to make the process easier. If that’s true, I’m sure that you would want the software to offer some suggestions to make your life easier. With the first copywriting software I used, it just asked me a bunch of boiler plate questions. What if that template was designed for selling information, while you were interested in selling vacations? As you might imagine, there would be some disconnect in your message.

So what you’ll want to have is flexibility. The copywriting software should have multiple options and suggestions that can apply to any product or service that you’re offering. These options would more likely be templates of the typical sales letter elements like headlines, openings, guarantees, and the call-to-action.

The great thing about templates is that they’re proven. When it comes to copywriting, marketers use something called swipe files. Pretty much they’re proven sales letters. Some could have been used recently, while others have been used for many decades. The fact is that not much has changed in the last hundred years when it comes to human motivation. So these proven elements of swipe files have been used over and over again like templates.

So once you’ve selected the right copywriting software, you’ll be able to create a sales letter in just a few hours. It might not be perfect, but the more you practice, the more you’ll get closer to perfect. Pretty soon you’ll have your salesman in print that will be working for you 24 hours a day.
