How Much Do You Make?

A number or consultants will take a period of time during their presentation and have the guests ask them questions about their business. The idea behind this is to generate interest in their business opportunity. Very often the question is asked, “How much money do you make?” That’s an interesting question because what they are really asking is, “Is this worth my time, trouble, and effort?”

There are several different ways to answer this question. Some consultants will answer with a percentage, such as, “I make 30% of everything I sell.” Another answer is to tell them, approximately, what you make, “I average $130 every show.” If you think about either of these answers, would they make you sit up and pay attention? Probably not.

So the question is, how can you answer “How much money do you make?” and have people really pay attention to the wonderful opportunity you have available for them?

Many people have money concerns. As prices are going up and up, their paychecks aren’t covering the increases they are facing. What do people do when their paycheck isn’t covering their expenses? They either cut back on purchases or else they look for part-time employment. How can you use that piece of knowledge to increase your recruiting?

Being aware that people are looking for additional income, could you incorporate that information into your answer? What is the minimum wage in your state? If my average income from doing a presentation is $130 I would have to work 20 hours at a part-time job to gross $130.
