Out of all the avenues perfect for advertising, golf is surprisingly high on the list. Someone new to the promotional industry might be pretty astounded to see the tremendous volume of golf items available for imprint. Take a quick look at a promotional products company website and you will probably see an entire section dedicated to golf.

The huge variety of imprintable golf products might stem from the general lack of typical advertising space. While signage and billboards can be found, golf courses are generally advertisement free. Even at big, televised events, you might only see some banners around the tee off area. There is a tradition of avoiding as many distractions as possible, so a big flashing sign or even a bright LCD screen with advertising or commercials are options that remain unavailable.

Golf has, however, been a kind of traditional social event for companies and executives. Companies will hold golf tournaments or can sponsor golf events for a good cause, which is a prime branding environment. The draw of advertising to these types of players can’t be exaggerated. If you can get your logo or company noticed by some big-wigs at potential clientele, you need to take advantage! The promotional products industry has stepped up to the task admirably, offering thousands of items aimed directly at the sport of golf. This segment has become one of the fastest growing ones of the almost $19 billion dollar industry.

There’s some potential to waste your money, though. Some items are too relatively small to really be worth the effort. Two inch golf tees really aren’t going to leave a big impact or even get noticed, no matter how nice your logo is. The club face of a driver has grown as large that they’ve become pretty irrelevant.

An imprinted golf ball cleaner, on the other hand, is close to perfection. This is an item that has all of the important qualities for a promotional product: it is useful and hands-on, has plenty of space for a logo, will constantly be in someone’s face as they’ll use it often, and are very portable. The only way it could be better is if here was some way to make it useful as a desktop item after the game to give your logo even more face time.

A customized golf accessory kit also takes the cake, and there are tons to choose from. These kits have just about everything you could want on the course, which covers the “useful” aspect important to a good promotional product. Divot repair tools, ball markers, tees, etc. Some might even include sunscreen or lotions to help protect from a day in the sun, adding even more value.
